Altone aka Yuki Takasaki is a Japanese musician and DJ, greatly inspired by 90s Detroit techno.
He performed at numerous venues in Japan, touring Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto as a member of a post punk, synth-led, new wave rock band. The experience led him to explore his own music, focusing on minimalism, eventually leading to continued experiments in dub techno, tech house, deep house and ambient.
Altone’s music is described as “a mechanical yet universal and natural experience, created by ‘random’ noise and warm looped soundscapes that can swim through the deepest part of your consciousness”. His music can be found on various labels from Apnea to Greyscale and Hello Strange. With “Blur” he gave his Etui Records debut on Etui Winter Camp 5 compilation, followed by his 2 artist releases “Dynamics” and “Sky Crawlers”.
Altone about himself: “The sound I hold dearest to me is the inorganic loop which has eliminated anything ‘extra’. Some of the greatest artists ever heard can provide us with dramatic soulful songs, groovy piano music, or even sentimental strings.
But what I aim is to recreate the unchangeable world of the deepest bottom of the ocean, in a far away place on the other side of Mars, and the world which lies in the most fundamental part in your heart.
Dive into it. Feel the beat. Immerse yourself. That is my sound.”
