Dandytracks

If someone is dealing with deephouse, techno and dubmusic the probability is high to come across the name of Mandy Jordan. It is definitively not possible to pigeonhole her music as it is sometimes profound and very often minimal, hypnotic and just refreshing. She’s always keeping track on everything that’s going on in her musical surroundings and she also likes to have a look back into the past. Finally Mandy likes music which resides between techno and house. She is one of the kinds who formed and developed minimal techno especially in the eastern part of Germany.

In the end that’s really not surprising as she and her boyfriend Daniel Madlung are having their own record label for minimal and house music since already eight years. Therefore Vekton Musik and Vekton Black became a very important part of her life. Since she turned 15 she went regularly to partys where she always got the main inspiration for her work. Mandy was born in Görlitz and she spent her youth in a couple of different cities in Germany. After she finished her studies of economics successfully she moved to Kamenz which is located pretty close to the main city of Dresden. Today she is living with Daniel in Dresden, working on her music, taking care of all the label work as well as coordinating of the bookings.

On his search for experimental electronic techno music that began in the late nineties, Daniel has begun to listen to minimal deep house records. The tracks were reduced, pixelated and almost edgy and cool. When he is listen to this stuff today, he quickly realised why nobody was dancing on these records 10 years before. Many labels no longer exist today and unfortunately left a lot of inspiration and his record collection full of deep minimal music, which he is still playing today in his DJ sets. His sound has become a mixture of Deep House and Minimal House .

Timeless, dirty, elegant and hypnotic music is the sound he hang up. The simplicity of Oldschool House and Detroittechno inspired him in every piece of what he does. The sound that interests Daniel should have this vintage character. He puts a lot of emphasis on the groove and is in love with these great chord sounds resonating spaces. He prefers Ableton for producing and a handful of analog gear.

After years of djing, runing a label and founding a family, the time was right to start their common music project Dandytracks. With “Dubstories About Us 1” the delivered a true dub techno track reduced to it´s raw key elements to our Etui Winter Camp 2. The 2nd dubstory will be told on Etui Winter Camp 3.
